Initiative To LEGALIZE Marijuana?

Marijuana / Cannabis / Hemp

San Francisco — Two prominent East Bay marijuana advocates got clearance from the state today to try to put a pot-legalization initiative on the November 2010 California ballot.

Richard Lee, executive director of the medical marijuana dispensary known as Oaksterdam, and Jeff Jones, former director of the Oakland Cannabis Buyers’ Cooperative, are the sponsors of a measure that would allow anyone over 21 to possess or grow marijuana for personal use. It would allow each local government to decide whether to tax and regulate marijuana sales.

There are many good persuasive arguments on why America should legalize marijuana; the problem is that fact has not translated into real political pressure on the people who can change the laws. One of the problems inhibiting legalization is that people that smoke a glass pipe or a hand rolled marijuana cigarette are not considered serious or mature. It is this stigma and the illegal nature of pot that makes people hide their use from public view, therefore reality of who uses pot is different than it seems. Marijuana Legislation is a serious issue and that has profound effects on crime the economy and society. In the end it is up to us to be public about our choices and to voice our opinions to the ones that ultimately decide what is legal. Every hand written letter that makes it to a representative is considered to be the voice of a thousand people who did not take the time to write. Send an email, send a letter, make a phone call and get counted.

Lee’s Initiative doesn’t Legalize. I understand how many do not know the difference between Legalizing and Decriminalizing.

CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org is a legalization Initiative and we need Volunteers since we are promoting Legalization that keeps us from going to prison.

Okaksterdam and Lee’s Initive only allows people to grow cannabis in a 5×5 sq ft area IF YOUR COUNTY AND LANDLORD say it’s okay.

    That’s not legalization.

Ask yourself of why Lee is spending ONE MILLION DOLLARS or more? Because if it comes down to choosing the best law his Initiative would be exposed as a sham.

Lee know this.. We are where we are because we have resisted laws against Cannabis. We will continue to do so and if your Initiative becomes law you will be sending people to prison still and the struggle will continue! BUT YOU WILL BE VERY RICH!

Please people read the two Initiatives before you decide to support one. I am sure once you read CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org you will see what Oaksterdam is up to.. Keeping us going to prison while Big Cannabis Business expands it’s market.
